FROM THE DESK OF THE PRINCIPAL.....

This past week has been very busy here at NWMS and throughout the District and will continue into next week. We started the state ISAT testing this week and will finish it up next week on Thursday. Preliminary scores should be back in June or July and you will get a report on your child's performance at conferences next fall. Registration materials will be coming home in April for next school year. Please remember that if you haven't finished paying your fees for this year that you take care of that ASAP. If you have any questions about fees please contact Susan Iles in the NWMS office. Spring Break will start on Friday March 21st and will last through Sunday, March 30th. Students will return to school on Monday, March 31st. The last day of student attendance before Spring Break will be on Thursday, March 20th with a normal dismissal time of 3:30pm. Make sure you read this edition completely as there is information about the cross-town dance with Creekside, as well as copies of school supply lists and order forms for next school year.

Doors Locked at 4 PM

Some parents continue to ask why the doors are locked at 4pm. Earlier this year I sent home a memo regarding this situation and also included information in an earlier edition of the Warhawk Times newsletter. For safety and security reasons for our entire school, staff and students we lock down the doors at 4pm when the secretarial staff leaves for the day. Should you desire a deeper explanation with more specifics please feel free to contact Mr. Wakitsch at the school.

Cross-Town Dance

Next Friday from 4-6pm student council will be hosting a crosstown dance for all NWMS students at Creekside. Students must parchase their tickets in advance and they must ride the bus to Creekside. No exceptions will be made. Parents will pick up students at Creekside at 6pm. Transportation back to Northwood will not be provided.

If you did not recieve an order form, and are considering ordering your supplies from the school store, please feel free to contact Mr. Cannata at the school (815-338-4900 x 126)
