| Q. |
Can
weather affect the signal/connection? |
| A. |
No. Unlike
satellite services, weather does not affect a fixed wireless
connection. |
| Q. |
What
is done during a standard installation? |
| A. |
Our installation
crew is responsible for mounting the antenna on your roof, running
the cable into your house or business, and configuring one computer
to access the internet via the wireless connection. The equipment
is grounded and a surge protector is installed. |
| Q. |
What
if I have more than one computer? |
| A. |
If you have
multiple computers in your home or office, we can provide additional
equipment. Please call to discuss your needs prior to the date
of installation so that we can estimate the additional costs. |
| Q. |
How
secure is the wireless connection? |
| A. |
Stan's fixed
wireless solution is very secure. We utilize 128-bit encryption
with our frequency hopping equipment.
|
| Q. |
Will
this interfere with my in-home wireless network? |
| A. |
Stan's installs
a directional antenna on the customer's premise. The signal from
our antenna is directed to one of our towers and not to the house
therefore, it will not interfere with an in-home wireless network.

| Q. |
Can
a homeowners association prevent the installation of fixed
wireless equipment? |
| A. |
NO! The FCC
telecommunications Act of 1996 protects residents from any limitations
that an association tries to impose on you. Please check on the
following link to read the actual FCC fact sheet: http://www.fcc.gov/mb/facts/otard.html |
| Q. |
Is the wireless equipment mine to keep?
|
| A. |
No. If you cancel your service with Stan's, the subscriber unit
and antenna must be returned in working condition. |
